May I ask which exhaust system (diameter) and manifold you've got? I'm thinking about going for a 2.5" (63.5mm) exhaust system with a matching 2.5" cat but I'm not sure about the exhaust manifold. Dunno if it makes sense to go bigger if I keep stock manifold.

If you have stock head/cam , I will suggest you , change only exhaust maniflod, you dont need to change whole exhaust system . On stock head bigger exhaust system can have bad effet ( G60 is not as turbo , it needs little bit back preassure from exhaust system ). My opinion is on stock head, only change exhaust maniflod.

For ported head , agressive cam , smaller pulley.., etc, than exhaust system have positive efect..

Exhaust maniflod for 8v vw engine usually came with small diameter pipes ( F38 mm), for stok head it is ok, for ported head you have to find larger diameter F42 mm ( same as came on 16V ).

My exhaust system is : 4-1 maniflod ( 42 mm pipes ) and 60 mm rest of the exhaust system ( with three free floe mufflers )

No , you cant put the 16v maniflod , the connetions/adapters are not the same, I meent that diameter is the sam as 16v,( f42 mm) it is pretty rare maniflod with that diameter for the 8v

I sent my G-lader to SLS , they will do G65 on CNC machine..
